Striper's Restaurant at Breakwater Inn & Spa in Kennebunkport, Maine is actively searching for a professional, friendly, and fast-paced Food and Beverage Manager / Restaurant General Manager to join our team of professionals. 

This is a year-round, salaried position offering $65,000-70,000K plus competitive benefits package and incentive program. 

Hay Creek Hotels of Kennebunkport encompasses multiple properties managed by Hay Creek Hotels; the Breakwater Inn and Spa, Striper’s Waterside Restaurant, and the Beach House Inn. The Breakwater Inn and Spa is situated on the Kennebunk River, offering 35 guest rooms with incredible views of coastal Maine. Nearby, the Beach House Inn adds an additional 35 guest rooms. Job Summary:

  • Greet, direct, seat, and serve guests in accordance with company service standards. Ensure subordinate staff are trained and meeting company service standards.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with menu items, promotions offered, hotel offerings, and related materials.
  • Assist in resolving any guest concerns.
  • Reconciliation of cash, accurately charge credit cards, and make appropriate cash deposits at end of shift. Ensure all team members deposit appropriate cash payments nightly.
  • Oversee staff on duty to ensure a smooth and positive guest experience.
  • Lead hands-on training programs for all staff according to standard.
  • Responsible for comp and void privileges for F&B staff. Ensure accurate processing of transactions.
  • Leadership in staffing including interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Works to ensure inventory and pars are in line with standards.

Experience and Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must feel comfortable with technology such as outlook and excel spreadsheets
  • Working knowledge of a Point of Sale system.
  • 2 years restaurant leadership experience
  • Hotel environment experience a plus
  • Prior Wine/Liquor knowledge.
  • Able to furnish state alcohol service training.
  • Ability to work in a constructive, team working environment with a positive, upbeat and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to operate smoothly under pressure and stress while maintaining hospitality
  • Flexibility to work nights or mornings, weekends, holidays, and busy seasonal days (i.e. town festivals).
  • Subject to successful completion of background check and/or DMV check.
