The acclaimed Granite Restaurant & Bar at The Centennial Hotel is actively searching for an energetic, customer-focused, and highly motivated Food and Beverage Manager to lead our front of house team of professionals.

This is a full time, salaried, year-round position. The right candidate must be willing and able to work nights, including weekends.

The Centennial Hotel and Granite Restaurant & Bar, managed by Hay Creek Hotels, is a beautiful historic hotel in Concord, NH that offers 32 guest rooms and suites, locally-sourced fine dining in a full-service restaurant and bar, a variety of meeting and event spaces, and off-site catering services. A popular dining and socializing spot among Concord locals, the award-winning Granite Restaurant & Bar is a beautifully styled, modern eatery.

Salary $55k-$60k, based on experience.

Job Summary:

  • Directly manage service staff to include; interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, reviews, scheduling, discipline, motivation, and terminations.
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients and guests in our restaurant, bar, room service and banquet areas, with a strong passion to elevate one’s dining experience. This includes greeting guests, ensuring service standards are met, and acting as a liaison between guests, staff, and back of house.
  • Creating and maintaining an exceptional guest experience while motivating and training our staff that offers a 'Delight and Surprise' atmosphere. Leads the team to ensure outstanding internal and external customer service standards. Create a positive, rewarding, motivational environment for the team.
  • Work daily/nightly management shifts supervising all F&B operations while working the floor, greeting guests, touching tables, assisting in expediting, checking in with banquet staff, and stepping into all active roles to support your staff.
  • Take responsibility for the financial success of the F&B department including budgets, labor management, creating cost controls, forecasting, efficient inventory management, controlling expenses, creating inventive promotions to develop revenue streams, and using the systems and controls in place by HCH.
  • Maintain all Point of Sale (POS) systems to include; updating pricing, making adjustments, enter specials, maintain counts, use of time clock system, etc.
  • Takes ownership of beverage program to create and develop drink menus, vendor relations, bar inventory and controls, etc.
  • Supervises all; health, sanitation, safety and security, laws, policies and procedures in all F&B departments/hotel.

Experience and Skills:

  • 2+ years of recent Restaurant Supervisor/Management experience.
  • Banquet or Hotel F&B experience a plus
  • Prior experience in New England region, familiar with New Hampshire market/clientele
  • Be willing to become the 'face' of the Restaurant with our guests as well as in the local community
  • Able to expedite, greet and host guests, and act as a server as needed
  • Proficient in MS Office (must be intermediate to advanced skill level using Outlook/Word/Excel programs)
  • Instinctive computer skills, quickly able to adapt and learn new technologies such as Open Table, Toast POS, Avero, and other web-based portals.
  • Proven ability to control costs pursuant to the annual operating budget.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to change, think quickly and prioritize effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment while maintaining calmness, composure, and hospitality
  • Must have flexibility with schedule to include evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to furnish appropriate state mandated certifications (TIPS, ServSafe, CPR, Allergy Awareness, etc.)
